The Annual General Meeting of AUDA took place on November 28
at the AUDA office. We thank all those members who took part! The

VITER Dance Costumes For Sale
Viter Ukrainian Dancers is selling costumes for young adults, male
and female. Costumes available are Volyn, Transcarpathian, Bukovynian and
Pokuttia.

VERKHOVYNA Mardi Gras Casino &
Mystery Night
When? Friday, February 5th, 2010
Where? Ukrainian Youth Unity Complex
9615-153 Avenue Edmonton AB
This event will include an Italian dinner
buffet and fun entertainment for the whole family involving casino action and
a murder mystery to solve. Costuming and Mardi Gras Masks are welcome!
Some of the prizes include Oilers hockey tickets and dining gift
certificates.
Tickets are $35 for a casino player package
(any age), or for children 3-12 years $10 (which will include
children’s activities only). Children under the age of 3 are free.
The Dinner Buffet runs from 6PM until 7:30 PM,
and the event officially starts at 7:30 PM.

The Troyanda Society of Grande Prairie invites applications for
the position of Artistic Director. This is a 2 - year renewable contract
beginning September 2010. Salary Range: $30,000 - $40,000/per year
(based upon experience & contract commitments)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and instruction of beginner through advanced Ukrainian dance
classes
o Wednesday & Thursday ~ September through May
(approx. 30 weeks)
o 70+ dancers aged 5 and up.
o Includes Troyanda’s “Enrichment Group”
comprised of dedicated dancers aged 11+ who wish to have additional
opportunities to perform at events & festivals.
- Choreograph original dances for each group as per a mutually agreed upon
schedule
- Coordinate annual dance concert; possibly with a storyline
- Conduct dance workshops throughout the year (2)
- Attend performances and competitions with dancers
o Malanka
o Festivals (2)
o Year End Concert
Skills & Attributes sought:
- Extensive training in Ukrainian dance; experience in other disciplines an
asset
- Musical knowledge and an solid understanding of regional choreography
- Ability to connect well with students of all ages in a positive and
supportive manner while encouraging them to give their best
- Well organized, consistent & disciplined
- Imaginative, energetic & passionate
- Able to work well under pressure and communicate effectively
- Genuine love of dance and a strong desire to share experience with students
Troyanda offers:
- New studio space built 2007 and owned by Troyanda. Equipped with sprung
panel dance floor with “Marley” surface, professional grade sound
system, full length wall to wall mirrors and permanently affixed ballet
barres.
- Large costume inventory providing a variety of regional choices as well as
character costumes.
- Willingness to explore development of new projects and travel opportunities
