– 8:00 pm Since it’s inception in
1982, under the St. Basil’s Language Arts Society, the Kupalo Ukrainian
Dance Ensemble has fostered the love of Ukrainian dance and provided its
members with a high degree of technical training in Ukrainian Canadian dance.
Under the Artistic Direction
of Shelley Borowski, the Kupalo Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has entertained
audiences both locally and abroad with their dynamic style, energy and
professionalism. This has lead to their evolution into one of
Edmonton’s highly respected semi-professional Ukrainian Dance
Ensembles. Recent Summer tour locations
include: California, Ukraine, Oregon, Scotland, Idaho, Quebec, Vancouver
Island, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and the Iles de la Madeleine. Auditions are being held for
Kupalo and Vesna (the junior level performing group) on Friday, June 12, 2009.
Dancers must be 12 years of age to audition for Vesna and have performing
experience to audition for Kupalo. For more information on our groups check

7:30-9:00 pm Through discipline,
determination and pride, Cheremosh has earned phenomenal success as a
world-Class Ukrainian Dance Company. Performing across Canada, the United
States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and China in 2007, Cheremosh has a
reputation of bringing amazing entertainment spectacle to stage.
International audiences including dignitaries such as Canadian Prime
Ministers, American Presidents, and the British Royal Family, have applauded
the unique lustre of Cheremosh. All interested male and
female dancers ages 16+ (or grade 10) are invited to audition for this

acclaimed Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company to the School of Dance for
children, Cheremosh offers an exceptional level of Ukrainian dance for all
ages. Cheremosh performing groups are directed by distinguished Artistic

Anniversary of the Verkhovyna Choir and the 35th Anniversary of the Dunai
Ukrainian Dancers, the Verkhovyna Ukrainian Song & Dance Ensemble is
proud to present “The Letter”. A riveting story of one
woman’s journey to a new land and life filled with struggles and
promise. This performance intends to capture the beauty of Ukrainian
tradition and culture through music, song and dance. Tickets are $20 each or
group tickets (of 10 or more) can be purchased for $18 each. Tickets can be purchased
