Again this year, the enhancement class is open free of charge to any Yalenka dancer aged 10 and up who wants to improve their dance skills and ballet technique!
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
This has changed a bit this year... At the first class each family will receive an envelope with a registration package, containing registration forms and volunteer information. Please take this home, fill it out, check your calendar for volunteer/bingo dates (and mark it on your calendar!), and bring the completed package the next week with the required cheques (registration, volunteer deposit, costume deposit).
Note: INCOMPLETE PACKAGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (missing cheques, missing forms).
All registrations MUST be completed by September 30th or the dancer will not be permitted into the dance studio after this date.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Yalenka’s major fundraising events are bingos and a casino. Gaming provides us with a large sum of money allowing us to keep our registration fees reasonable, while still being able to:
- hire professional instructors and pay competitive wages
- buy music for specific story lines and dances
- rent studio space with ballet barres and sprung floors
- order specialized costumes from Ukraine or hire professionals to sew regional costumes
- help subsidize dancers for competitions, and
- offer travel opportunities to the dancers.
As a result of gaming funds, our fees have not increased and we are able to offer affordable dancing to families.
Yalenka’s last casino was April 2010 and is awaiting confirmation of the date of the next casino.
